One of the many perks of working in radio... amazing promo swag!  Thanks to our friends at The CW for sending along 80's-inspired The Carrie Diaries goodies.  The Rubik's Cube occupied a good 45 minutes of my time on the commute home yesterday, lol.  What got me even more excited than the boombox packaging it came in was...viewing the actual show itself!

As of recently, I've been literally inhaling shows.  Watching full seasons of all the critically acclaimed shows in a matter of days.  (Keep in mind, I did have a few days off for the Holidays, I'm not a total geek.)  Homeland, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy...

I LOVE these shows, but also am still mourning the loss of Gossip Girl.  The Carrie Diaries was not only a change of pace from what I've been watching, it certainly has potential to fill the void that GG left behind.

For all my Carrie Bradshaws out there, this show picks up right where Sex and the City left off, began.

Before Big, before Samantha, Miranda & Charlotte, you get a glimpse into the life of young Carrie, growing up as a teenager in the 80's as she juggles family life, high school & her first love affair with MANhattan.

I won't give too much away, but it's heartwarming with a music score that will make you want to dance.  It's also fun to remember a time when a potential date had to actually pick up a land-line phone to communicate with you.

It gives a major shout-out to one of my favorite stores, Century 21 Department Stores, which made me giddy to see.

You'll also see how writing & fashion introduce themselves into Carrie's life as well.

So far, first episode gets my stamp of approval and I urge you to check it out - I'm curious to see what else is in store for the upcoming season.

Now back to that Rubik's Cube... j/k!  ;)
