The 25 year-old (yes, she's lying), started her radio career as an intern at a Long Island radio station and worked her way through the ranks. After two hops across The Long Island Sound, full-time radio experience and various voice-over projects, she landed her dream job working in Market 1 radio and expanding her brand across the country. In addition, Wendy can also be heard on The Weekend Throwdown with Jagger, and The Weekend Top 30 Countdown, two nationally syndicated programs.
Everyone loves to be original and have something made especially for them. I'm a sucker for this...!!
And after custom creating my signature scent (Dans Sur L'air) through Original Scent, a custom lip color was next on the list.
I read an article in the Daily Mail about the Bite Beauty pop-up shop in lower Manhattan... lo and behold, I happened to be in NYC this weekend and stopped by to give the experience a try.
This is what you see when you first walk in:
It looks like 10th grade chemistry class, right?!
Don't panic, Bite's experts are on hand to give you direction, and help you choose the perfect tint for your pout!
Looks good enough to eat? Errrrr... don't. :)
Not only do you get to custom create your color... but also what it smells like! Tip: Sample the peppermint last.
This is where the fun really happens. After your ingredients are chosen, they are mixed together in a centrifuge. Then poured into the mold, where it will sit on an ice cold plate for approx. 7 minutes. Then it's tubed, packaged and you're on your merry little way.
The pricetag is $28 for a custom shade, which I feel is relatively reasonable taking into account the fun involved.
Could you possibly find a brand of lipstick that is similar to the shade you custom-created? Probably, but again, I'm on a "custom kick" and had a lot of fun!
I'm about 2 weeks in, being very strict with my diet. But let's not call it a diet. More of a lifestyle change. So how can you be strict with a diet that's not really a diet?
Easy. I'm living by a new set of rules as far as what I consume.
"Egg White Omelette Bites" -- make 'em however you like. Recipe here.
Gone are foods that are processed. And gone are foods that contain loads of sugar. I've been buying organic when I can, have replaced traditional sweeteners with alternatives, such as honey. It's not just because I know her, that's not why I'm saying this... just to give a shoutout to my friend's blog, but Lexi's Clean Kitchen has been my go-to manual to get me started.
Start off slow, see what you can do.
I've also managed to phase out dairy, because my body hates me when I have it. I love ice cream, creamer in my coffee... but afterwards, well... :( I know many people suffer from lactose sensitivities as well.
Almond milk is my new go-to... because I'm not a huge fan of soy. With the vanilla-flavored almond milk, I don't have to load any additional sugar into my morning coffee either.
In just 2 weeks, I'm leaner. My stomach doesn't hurt all the time, haven't had any heartburn! (I feel like an old grandpa complaining about those kind of ailments here!)
But that's why this is a lifestyle change.
Who knows if it's related, but my skin is much clearer too.
Sure it's easy to grab an insta-meal, but with just a little bit of planning and liiiiiiiitle bit of preparation, you'll have some fabulous clean dishes that can last you the entire week.
Lexi's blog spells it out better than I ever could. Experimenting with spices as she recommends is a fun way to add a little variety to every meal. All you need are your 3 solid recipes you like, you'll learn them by heart and then can start replacing incredients with others... learn as you go.
Normal day, right?
