1. No matter how old they are or where you were born Danny boy means something to you and you somehow know all the words. I found a version of Danny Boy on Youtube performed by Phil Coulter, one of my parent's favorite performers. It brings tears to my eyes. No words are necessary on this one.

2. The smell of corn beef and cabbage reeks in your home on March 17th and they are proud of its aroma.

3. Another song familiar in the Irish roots home is H A double R I G A N spells Harrigan. Only a few select Irish can do the River dance but if you put the music on almost all of us will get up and get jiggy with it.

4. The Irish are a friendly and a funny people but also can be stubborn (not me) and passionate about their family and their roots.

5. They can not pass up Irish soda bread in the supermarket and when you bring it home you put on a pot of tea to dip it in and butter is essential, it enhances the flavor.

6. If you have ever been to the Emerald Isle, as I have you know where the green comes from and why green is worn on St. Paddy's Day. All the countryside is green and spacious.

7. They know a hot toddy will cure all ills and it puts hair on your chest. Even the women find this invigorating.

8. There is a least one leprechaun lurking about in your home on the outside or in.

9. They fancy the shamrock because you want to have the luck of the Irish but are blessed with a sense of humor to know the luck of the Irish is not always the best.

10. You own a claddagh ring and know its meaning. It should be worn on your right hand facing out if you are single and looking. If the heart is facing in you are in a relationship. It should be worn on your left hand facing out if you are engaged and your left hand heart facing in if you are married.

So if you Irish like myself...what do you think of these? This is just one man's opinion, NOT MINE BY THE WAY, found this in a newspaper on Friday...let me know your thoughts & of course, HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!
